Easy Homemade Jerky Recipe
Ingredients
* beef, any type you want to use - about 3 lbs
* 1-2 cups soy sauce
* 1 tablespoon brown sugar
* 1 tablespoon cooking oil
* 2 tablespoons black pepper, coarsely ground
* 2 tablespoons garlic powder
* 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
* 2 tablespoons chili powder
Directions
1. Cut meat into 2 by 5 inch strips, 1/4 inch thick.
2. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar and cooking oil in a large bowl.
3. Marinate meat in mixture (in refrigerator) for 2 to 4 hours (adjust amount of soy sauce as needed to cover meat).
3. Remove meat and pat dry.
4. Combine seasonings and mix well.
5. Cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and place meat, 1 layer thick, on cookie sheet.
6. Sprinkle seasoning mix generously over both sides of meat and fold up edges of foil.
7. Bake in 140 to 180 degree oven for 5 to 8 hours or until degree of dryness you desire is achieved.
8. Store is in open container at room temperature. Do not refrigerate.
